Diplomacy
After the events of my desperate gamble, I will report to Tara to face the judgement of the High King. As per our agreement Toirdhealbach will "annex" my land and striple Argyll and Boadicea of their titles and probably imprison them until he can send them into exile. I will still have control of my provinces, so I will send Lord Comgal to Kildare as its governor.
Intrigue
Oonya : (2.7.5) Once the army is in place have Oonya spread rumors in Cork that we are going to be invading Limerick over the winter or that a small O'Bruic force is conducting raids during winter. The objective is to get Dylan to leave his fort so we can fight him in open battle once my army is in Cork. If Dylan also wants Limerick this may drive him to try and beat us to it, or hopefully the bounty on my head convinces him to come.
Military
Argyll's Boys'
Commander : Argyll (8.2.3)
Sub-Commanders : Tomas (5.1.3), Gwen (6.3.3), Boadicea (4.4.2)
Units : 1st - 5th Kerry Galloglaigh, 1st - 2nd Kerry Hobelar , 1st Dublin Hobelar, 1st - 3rd Kerry Caithearn : Total : 3350 men
Objectives : Attack Cork, destroy as many British units as possible
Order of Battle :
Seeing as I cannot pay the upkeep for all of my men I will be taking the option to try something desperate. Call everyone into an assembly and Use 1 land or whatever to pass around warm ale to everyone, a thick hearthy soup and nice fresh meat of some sort
Order of Battle :

"Alright listen up boyos! I know there's been alotta talk about coin and payment this year so I'll tell ya all right now its true. After all that partyin and hirin the new recruits I aint got a single coin to the O'Bruic name and theres so damn many of ya that I can't pay ya since we lost Galway to Faolan's cronies and Dublin to those Cuchulainn bastards.
Now that we got that shit cleared up, let me tell ya what we're gunna do. We're gunna do what real men do and we're gunna take what we're due! We are Irishmen! This is the land of the strong and we're gunna prove it to Britannia and the whole damn world that we ain't to be messed with! We are all Clan O'Bruic! The toughest roughest bastards the world has ever seen.
When warriors hear our name on the battlefield they tremble in fear and crap themselves! When women hear our names they blush because they know we got the biggest set a balls anywhere on the island! Ya wanna know why theres no snakes in Ireland? Because we beat them all to death with our cocks!
When we raided Cork, those british dogs cowarded behind their walls too afraid to face us. When we lost Galway, it took the combined might of 4 families to beat us, and we didn't even have our full strength! Not even the mighty God could save his servants as we stabbed them all in the face for being british whores and took their treasures as our own.”
Pause and wait for these words to sink in and drink some beer before proceeding.
“Clan O'Bruic is the strongest clan there is, and come this year we are going to prove it. We're going to finish what we started and throw those damn Auxsylvian cur back into the sea! Think of it lads! Think of the riches hidden behind the walls of Cork! Think of the glory we will have when we beat an enemy not even the High King could defeat! Best of all, think of all the treasure. The Auxsylvian's may be a bunch of wimps, but they know how to fill their pockets and Cork is the richest trade city on the island. Soon all that coin will be ours!
Now drink up boys and fill yer bellys! This is probably gunna be the last hot meal a lot of ya are ever gunna have. This will be the greatest challenge we have ever faced. The hardships we will have to endure will be something few men in the world have ever faced, but once we finish we will forever be remembered as legends! Clan O'Bruic will be remembered forever!
The Auxsylvians on the other hand... well ya know what Clan O'Bruic does to their hated enemies!”
At that point stand up and lead the men in chanting No Blood! No Bones! No Ash!
Order of Battle :
- We will march with all haste towards Cork, if possible stopping by villages killing everyone and taking all their food. Since its winter there shouldn't be a lot of people on the road, so as long as we kill everyone we come across we should stay consealed.
- Referring to Oonya's Intrigue Operation, have the army move to a woody or hilly area near Cork. We will then wait to see if the Abaddon army leaves Cork and ambush them if possible. We must lure/ambush them in a place where the knights will not have full advantage or a lot of terrain where they can build up powerful charges.
At night send men to secretly dig ditches and cover them with snow so that Dylan's cavalry have a chance of tripping or fucking up their formations. If Oonya's operation does not get Dyaln to come out then we will have to find a spot just outside of Cork where we can lure them out to have a battle.
- I will then take my 2 Galloglaigh and 1 Caithearn and place them right behind the ditches. The rest of the units will be hidden near by ready to charge in once Dylan engages. If need be have Argyll ride close to the gate and start shouting taunts at them to try and get them to come out.
Onec battle commences the primary objective will be to swarm his knights and cavalry units and destroy them by any means necessary. Have the men aim for their horses firstthen mob the knights and stuff as they fall. I do not care how many of my units die so long as we also wipe out some of Dylan's units.
- Argyll and Gwen will lead the main body of troops. Gwen is not to leave Argyll's side and make sure that he doesn't die. Boadicea will be in charge of the cavalry and Tomas will be in charge of the hidden units. After the enemy cavalry charges out to attack us, Boadicea or Tomas must rush out and try to secure the gate. Hopefully they don't close it too quickly after they charge out, but if one of them are fast enough they may be able to get in before its closed. The other one should focus on helping Argyll's line if he needs help.
- If they close the gate right after, we will have to try and beat them down till they try to retreat, then follow them into the city, OR try to capture the lord himself so that he can open up the city. Should we capture Dylan I will promise to spare him if he opens the gates and surrenders the province to us. Have them all throw down their arms then get on the next trade ship outa here.
Contingency Plans
- If all else fails, or if it doesn't seem like we can trick Dylan to come out, we're gunna have to try and secretly scale the walls with a small team consisting of me, Boadicea, Gwen, Tomas and handful of our most experienced bodyguards/galloglaigh. If even that is impossible just full on assault the walls, using the Caithearn to provide missle support while all the Galloglaigh try to get up the walls with ladders and ghetto grappling hooks.
- Fight as long as possible and wipe out as many enemy units as we can. This is our last glorious stand so do not retreat until the last possible moment. If we do retreat, be prepared to have to go and hide inside of the fort with whatever units I have left.
P.S Kill anyone who tries to desert on our way to Cork. Clan O'Bruic has no need for cowards and we can't have Dylan learning of our plans before we get into position.
