Lady Freya, I bid you fair judgement and calm. This agreement between House Varosean and House Auxslyvus was a matter settled only a short time ago and one that felt was best to capitalize upon. I understand your objections at not being informed and apologize, it is not an appreciated gesture to one of my most favored vassals. Your consel has been heard and I appreciate it now more than ever for the treaty itself effects land your ancient House has legitmate claims to. You should know, my lady, that upon the ascension of my grandson to be your beloved husband next year it was your proposal that I would choose which province he would inherit -- giving you the other, a sign of your infinite gratitude and a true and pure gesture of friendship and honor. It was a proposal that took me a back at its purity and honesty -- it was in fact yet another piece of reinforcement to prove to my House and I that you were true to your word about your dear mother's unfortunate fate -- a fate I assure you, will be avenged. As for Carmathen, it was my belief mi'lady that this province was effectively going to be my grandsons. You raised no protest to this upon my initial proclamation, and therefore I took it reasonable to assume that you had given your silent consent.

I took this assumption to the table when Lord Auxslyvus' sirens came before me with his wishes of peace. His original proposal including a surrendering of Glamorgan to Cadeyrn and a recognition of your right to rule Carmathen. To my understanding, Glamorgan was to be your's mi'lady and therefore, as you swore alliegance to House Varosean and I, I was not prepared to betray your trust and loyalty by surrendering your province to the Auxslyvus House. I instead proposed taking from my own grandson, my very blood, some his own rights and privilages and placing them into Auxslyvus' caretaking -- including my very grandson. To my understand, Lady Freya of House Abaddon, it is I, Lady Tarian Varosean - Master of House Varosean that suffers more from this proposal than do you. I have upheld the promise I give to all my vassals that I protect their rights and privilages so long as they take up arms in defense of my (and by extension their) House.

It is my purest of hopes Lady Freya that you will see the wisdom of the proposal between Lord Auxslyvus and I and give your blessing. I assure you, my lady, your trust in me is not misplaced. You trusted me once before -- I ask that you do so again.

Tarian Varosean
Master of House Varosean
